GDC300B Major game production 2

The unit is the second part of the capstone project. In this unit, you will build upon skills learnt in GDC300A Game Development Project 3 or GDC300I1 Internship1 and taking the 3D prototype designed, you will continue its implementation. You will be working more independently, receiving feedback from your supervisor as a group, utilising the skills you have gained to create a game or visual showpiece that will form the heart of your portfolio. You will further explore production and post-production stages focusing on entrepreneurship and business plans. You will apply the tools and techniques necessary to design novel game interfaces into game development in a studio-simulated environment for production of a commercially-viable product. You will, individually, will work through all aspects of an industry development cycle, beginning with pre-production and progressing through to completion and performing a post-mortem to determine the success of game development and learn from any mistakes made. You will go through testing cycles to gather critical feedback. All of these phases are important practices within the games and digital industries to ensure the success of a product. You will explore the advancements in visualization and interaction technologies, propose new techniques for human-computer interaction making use of virtual and augmented reality, and measure user experience in a game development project. You will demonstrate basic entrepreneurship skills sketching and pitching a business plan and professional level knowledge of project management and development while leveraging your skills in your area of specialisation to complete and deliver a finished product. You will produce advanced game documentation including UX and GUI design documents, and a business plan taking feedback from play testing and review sessions. You will also provide constructive feedback to your peers in a professional manner and reflect upon and document your own performance and role in this project.
