Newsletter - August 2024

August 2024

Hi there,

Welcome back!

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone back to Semester 2 and hope you all enjoyed your break.

Our Newsletter is where we will share news that is happening around your campus and events you might be interested in attending. Late last semester we welcomed our Student Council who will be your voice so if you have any concerns, please reach out to the representative on your campus. We know uni life can be a little daunting with all the assessments, lectures to attend and trying to maintain a healthy life balance. It is important to look after yourself and reach out if you feel overwhelmed.

Regards,
Ann-Maree Davies, Academic Director

A few things to remember as we head into assessment time!

  • All assessments must be attempted and submitted to pass a unit
  • It is called a Reference list - not a Bibliography
  • Generative AI is a tool and can be used unless it is expressly prohibited in the assessment requirements HOWEVER, if you are using it, it must be acknowledged and referenced. Check out the Assessment, Moderation and  Progress P&P for further information on using AI
  • If you think you are going to need an extension then reach out to your Lecturer or Tutor before the Due Date - better to be safe than sorry!

The AIE Student Council is dedicated to representing the interests and experiences of our diverse student body.  We look to understand and address each student's concerns while putting emphasis on the aspects they find most enjoyable and add to them.  We also aim is to organise events and enhance student engagement.

Our council is committed to creating and maintaining a university environment that values and listens to every voice.  We encourage you to contact your campus representatives with any concerns or suggestions.

President: Liam Davis
Vice President: Joel Martin
Secretary: Ellacoco Hammer-McIver
Representatives: Adeline Humphrey, Edward Green, Elleanor Everett, Hayden McCormack, John Stevenson

Please feel free to approach us directly, send a private message, or email us with your feedback.  Alternatively, we will reach out to you to gather your insights. We look forward to collaborating with you to improve campus life for current and future students. studentcouncil@aieinstitute.edu.au
