Student Agreement and Acceptance of Offer

Terms and conditions

This agreement commences on the date that this Agreement is signed, and covers the education provided between the commencement date and the completion date of the course listed in the Letter of Offer.

• All fees are listed in Australian dollars (AUD).
• Unpaid fees will be recorded as a debt and recovered under legal action.
• Testamurs will not be issued if fees are outstanding.
• Refunds will be paid in Australian dollars (AUD).
• Refund applications must be submitted by the required date set out in Refund Policy and Procedure Domestic Students.

Rights of students

In the unlikely event that AIE Institute is unable to fully deliver the course of study, the student will be refunded all tuition fees paid for the study period in which the default occurs, as well as any tuition fees paid in advance for future units of study. Alternatively, the student may be offered enrolment in another AIE Institute course and these fees credited against the new course. The Tuition Protection Service (TPS) is an initiative of the Australian Government, and if required, will assist you in finding an alternative course or to get a refund if a suitable alternative is not found.

This written agreement, and the right to make complaints and seek appeals of decisions and action under various processes, does not affect the rights of the student to take action under the Australian Consumer Law if the Australian Consumer Law applies.

AIE Institute reserves the right to disclose students’ personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 [https://www.legislation.gov.au/Series/C2004A03712].

Course fees

The fees outlined above consider any credit applications that have been applied for and granted.

This will also be reflected in the confirmation of enrolment and invoice that will be sent to you. The invoice will include information about different payment options.

Student Handbook - Domestic Students

The Student Handbook for domestic students provides information to assist you with your studies at AIE Institute. As a student, it is important that you understand your responsibilities and the policies, procedures and processes used at AIE Institute. The handbook contains information on these, and it is important that you read and understand this information. You can access the most up-to-date version of AIE Institute’s Student Handbook at any time.

Student declaration

In signing this agreement, I declare that:

1. I have been provided with relevant policies relating to my course and enrolment, and I have read and understood the policies and procedures.
   1. In particular, I have accessed the policies and procedures on the AIE Institute website and I have read and understood:
      • Fee Policy and Procedure;
      • Fee Schedule Domestic Students;
      • Refund Policy and Procedure Domestic Students;
      • Admissions Policy and Procedure;
      • Student Grievance Policy and Procedure;
      • Entry Requirements including pre-requisites;
      • English Language Proficiency Policy and Procedure requirements.
   2. I will adhere to the policies and procedures and any other guiding documents that are relevant to my study, and understand that failure to do so may result in disciplinary action and cancellation of my enrolment in serious cases.
2. I will abide by the Student Code of Conduct at all times.
3. I have the financial capacity to meet my obligations to pay tuition fees and other associated fees as they become due and understand that failure to do so may result in late fees or cancellation of my enrolment.
4. I understand that I will not be issued with a testamur if any fees are outstanding.
5. I consent to receiving information electronically.
6. I consent to the provider verifying the authenticity of my academic/professional qualifications and work experience, and understand that the provider may inform other organisations, government departments or agencies if any of the information I have provided is not accurate.
7. I will undertake my studies to the best of my abilities, follow the rules of the course, and submit my assessments on time.
8. I will make every effort to maintain satisfactory progress to complete the course within the scheduled timeframe.
9. I will read my student email regularly and log on to the student portal at least weekly.
10. I will notify the provider of my contact details and keep them up-to-date at all times by notifying the provider of any changes within 7 days of the change. This includes:
    1. my current residential address;
    2. mobile phone number and email address;
    3. emergency contact person and contact details.
11. I will provide true and correct information at all times.
12. I will keep a record of this agreement and receipts for payment of tuition fees and non-tuition fees.
13. I have read, understood and accepted the Terms and Conditions in this Agreement and the Rights of Students information in this Agreement.
